Tds applicability on foreign remittance

10 August 2011 Our company is in freight forwarding business. We are the member of one of the international freight forwarder association. Every year there is one AGM conducted with all the members. The association will make arrangement for Food and hotel. Each member has to remit the necessary charges to the association. WIll tds applicable on remittance. Can you answer with proper reasoning and supporting.

10 August 2011 What for you are sending the money outside INDIA? Is any services or goods have been supplied to You?. The answer is no gods or services supplied to you and you only reimbursing the expenses and hence as per the provision of Section 9 read with section 195 as you are remitting the share of the expenses no TDS is required to be done.

10 August 2011 The association is conducting the meeting for the member and they are charging Meeting fees where they are going to arrange hotel,AIrfare and food.
