10 October 2011 WE HAVE PURCHASED RAW MATERIAL AND PARTY IN CHARGING TRASPORT CHARGES SEPRATLY IN BILL IFSELF, WHETHER WE HAVE TO DEDUCT TDS ON TRANSPORT CHARGES ?

11 October 2011 Yes its a part of your purchase price... (but as it has been shown separately it can be deemed as transportation charges and will attract TDS (if any))

But currently, there is NIl TDS in case of transportation charges (who have valid PAN)

I hope your supplier must be a registered firm.

11 October 2011 make shure the particular vendor is registred under transport services & having pan No., If Yes, then there is no need to deduct TDS, if he has not registred or not having pan no. then you have to deduct TDS.

If pan no. not having tds will be charged @ 20%

I dont think he has to check that the supplier is registered under transport service or not..

Praful.... Yes... NIL TDS PROVISION IS APPLICABLE ONLY TO TRANSPORTER who has valid PAN..
