13 September 2010 For the AY 2010-11, tds on freight & advt,royalty if deducted and paid in the month of september 2010,in order to claim deduction, should the tds be filed or payment will be sufficient?

13 September 2010 Pay TDS along with interest for Short deduction @ 1%. TDS return should also be filed. Late filing of TDS return attract penalty of RS. 100 per day.

13 September 2010 TDS alongwith late payment interest should be paid. If original return has already been filed then you can file correction statement at any time. But if the original return has not been filed yet, then you have to file with required penalty.

FOr income tax purpose i.e claiming of expenese , payment of tds with interset is sufficient.
You can revise the return later as when you have time afterward sept.
