We have a Building of 2 floors,
for this
maintainance charges for
2nd floor rs 13,667/-
they are paying by deducting of tds @ 2% ?
so, how i caliculate the mainatainance charges ?
if we add 2% tds to total maintainance charges ?
if we add 2% we have to pay tds to govt ?

How can he deduct TDS. Coz it is not crossing the limit mentioned u/s 194C? Ask him/her about the matter.

you need to deduct 2% of Rs 13667 and pay remaining to the maintenance entity. the 2% deducted is to be deposited to the govt.

Nikhil I think he is receiving the maintenance charges. And can u explain how TDS should b deducted since the limit is not crossing?

yes he is. because most probably these are monthly maintenance charges.
plus, income tax only provides conditions for not deducting taxes, it doesn't mean that you cannot deduct!

But u have mentioned u need to deduct 2% from....... and pay to the remaining to the maintenance entity entity. K I believe that is is monthly.
