Taxability of Income

This query is : Resolved

31 December 2007 I left India and came to Abu Dhabi,UAE for a job on 18th November 2007.So as per IT Act,1961 I am Resident for F.Y.2007-08.A.Y. 2008-09.
So whether I have to pay tax on the salary I earned in UAE from 19th November2007 to 31st March 2008?
Whether there is any Double taxation Treaty bet the countries so that I do not have to pay tax?
Please guide me.
Thanking you
Rajesh H. Mantri.

31 December 2007 IF your stay in India is 182 days or more your status will be Resident Indian and your global income will be taxable in India. If you are taxed in both the countries on the same income, India as well as your host country, the Double Taxation Avoidance Agreement between them will protect you. Such agreements between India and other countries, wherever they exist are available in WWW.INCOMETAXINDIA.GOV.IN
in your case india has a DTA agreement with UAE.PL. VISIT THE ABOVE WEB SITE FOR DETAILS.
