Taxability of el & gratuity

20 August 2011 I am leaving my current job. There is EL balance of 125 days in my account & i also completed the five year period hence eligible for gratuity.

Kindly clearfy me weather these two i.e Earned Leave & Gratuity is taxable or not, if yes in which Financial Year.

I would be help me if you also quote section/clause in support of your answer.

25 August 2011 Earned leave & Gratuity both are taxable in the year of receipt subject to the following exemption

Gratuity subject to section.10(10)

E.L subject to sec.10(10AA)
