03 May 2014 Yes, tax is required to be paid in India, provided your bro stayed in India from 30/10/2013 to 31/03/2014. Because as per IT Act, your bro becomes resident and ordinary resident Indian. However, if your bro would come on or after 01/02/14, then tax need not to paid in India. Because, your bro would become Non Resident Individual in the eyes of IT Act.
