Suppose i am paying tax under wrong category for the last 6 years. now the department is aware of it and they may issue me notice for the same anytime. do i need to file vces for the same mentioning correct category. if yes then what will be the fate of tax paid under wrong category for the period 01 jan 2013 to 30 nov 2013. pls guide.

1. if the tax has already been paid, VCES should not apply.
