Dear sir,
I have paid 2007-08 sales tax in the year 2009-10 the assessing officer is not considering the payment once again charging in the demand notice but we have shown paid details but not accepting what to do please suggest me.

This is nothing but harassment. First,show the list of your payments made and how it clears all demand in a letter and take acknowledgement.If they try to recover by other means such as prosecution,revenue,bank attachment,or auctioning any authority produce this letter and get that method blocked. Also you can higher uthorities like DC or JC and get some relief. They can not forcibly recover the same dues second time.
