Is dividend received from companies by an Individual is taxable in the hands of Individual for AY 2016-17.

The dividend from companies will be taxable in hands of Individual, provided the dividend income exceeds 10lakhs.
Which would be taxed @10% in addition to DDT.

Dividend income in excess of Rs 10 lakh will be taxed at 10% in the hands of the receiver (Individual, HUF or a firm who is resident in India). But I think It is not fair as double taxation involved here.
