22 February 2010 Hey All

I am in job and getting good amount of salary. I didnot wanted to come in job but due to personal problems I hav to come in job. I wanted to start my own practice now I am working in a company and not satisfied.
I am having a option from my earlier firm from where I complete my articleship they are providing me just half of my current salary. what should I do.

22 February 2010 As per my suggestion you should not leave job option. Keep searching for good job.

Starting practicing at this moment would be equal to start a fresh.

You may use your present experience in the new job very well and reach the top level.

Think positively.

All the Best

26 July 2025 Hey! Thanks for sharing your situation—it's a tough spot but pretty common.

Here’s my take:

**If you’ve joined the new job just 3 months ago and have about 6 months of experience overall,** it’s usually better to stick with the job for some more time before jumping into practice. Here’s why:

* **Experience matters:** The more you build your skills and confidence in a structured environment, the better prepared you’ll be when you start your own practice.
* **Financial stability:** Starting your own practice early without a strong client base or network can be financially stressful, especially if the initial income is low.
* **Network & learning:** Working in a firm (even if salary is lower than your current job) can help you build connections and understand client management, which are crucial when you practice on your own.

**What you could do:**

* Continue with your current job or the offer from your old firm for a bit (maybe 1-2 years) to gain solid experience.
* Simultaneously, start building your network—attend seminars, meet potential clients, and learn about practice management.
* Keep an eye open for a better job too if you’re unsatisfied.
* When you feel confident, start your practice part-time or as a side hustle before going full-time.

If you have personal reasons pushing you to start practice immediately, maybe discuss a phased transition with your current/new employer, or try freelance consulting to ease into it.
