19 April 2017 I have EPFO pension .I am 68. I have made Short Term And Long Term Capital Gains On my Shares and MF in FY 16/17. In BOTH cases STT is paid. Will the STT paid be Deductible. Please advice before May 2017.

19 April 2017 You are receiving EPFO Pension which is taxable under Income from Other Sources and Securities Transaction Tax paid is allowed from Business income and not from any other income and you have income under Other sources (EPFO Pension) and income under head capital gains (Short Term Capital Gains) From which STT is not allowed to be deducted

Hence STT paid is not deductible in your case
