02 August 2012 Is Service tax is applicable to Director's Remuneration ?

If Director is under employment, under which section TDS should be deducted ? 194J or 192B ?

If Service tax is applicable, who will pay it to the govt ? Company or Director ?

02 August 2012 Salary paid to EMPLOYEE director will continue to enjoy the preveledges of sec 192. The rest will go with 194J

02 August 2012 The non executive directors are liable for service tax provided their total services [ including remuneration exceeds Rs. 10 Lakhs.
Executive directors being employees are not liable.

02 August 2012 check the part of remunereation. salary will go in 192 and other 194 J.
if director's total remuneration except salary is more than 10 lac then he is liable for service tax. he will charge it in bill and company will pay. director will depsoit this service tax to govt
