* When you file **ST-3 online**, and the status shows **“Filed”**, it means your return is successfully submitted and accepted by the system.
* However, the **process is not fully complete** just by e-filing.
* You **must print the filed ST-3 return, sign it, and submit it physically to the jurisdictional Service Tax Superintendent**.
* According to the notification (linked: [https://www.aces.gov.in/Documents/956\_17\_2011.pdf](https://www.aces.gov.in/Documents/956_17_2011.pdf)), you typically have to submit the signed copy **within 7 days** from the date of online filing.
* Failing to send the signed copy can lead to non-compliance even though the return is filed online.
