07 September 2011 What are the documents required for getting service tax registration number for a partnership firm?
What are the fees for the same?

07 September 2011 log on to www.aces.gov.in
in service tax category create a user id and log in , fill the ST 1 Form online , submit it online,you will get the address of the ST officer and a provisional ST number after you press submit, take print outs of ST 1 filled and also of the screen which shows the provisional ST number.

For Physical submission :
Make two sets of following :
1. ST 1 and the provisional ST number
2. covering letter
3. self certified copy of Partnership deed
4. self certified copy of PAN
5. self certified copy of Proofs of Authorized Partners.. Pan and one address proof
6. Copy of registration certificate from registrar of firms if firm is already registered / if registration is applied then copy of the acknowledgement receipt / nothing in case of a unregistered firm.
7. Authority letter for submission of documents.

you have to submit the above documents hard copies within 7 days of online submission of ST 1 Form.
you will get the ST-2 registration certificate after submission of above documents probably on the same day of submission itself.

No fees is to be Paid to the ST department.
