Service tax on gold ornametns manufacturing

service tax applicable for gold manufacturer or not. There was difference of openion on service tax applicable for gold ornaments manufacturer or not. Need Some Perfect Help Regarding this matter.

There is no service tax on manufacyure of gold ornaments:
1.Gold being a precious metal is covered under chapter 71 of Central Excise Tariff.
As per negative list any process amounting to manufacyure or production is not leviable to service tax.therefore making of gold ornaments is not liable to service tax.
2.As per serialno 30(b) of Notification No. 25/2012 any job work in relation to jewellery of gold is exempted.Therefore again service tax is leviable.
