Service tax on fees received for liasioning work with govt. depts.

19 August 2007 The liasioning work for certain approvals from govt. departments such as EXPLOSIVES , BOILER AUTHORITIES, MUNICPAL/STATE GOVT. AUTHORITIES ETC is done. The receipts for these services includes certain out of pocket expenses expended at the offices for which no proofs are available .

If a person renders these type of services under what head of service he will be covered?

What will be the fate of expneses incurred as mentioned above?

The constitution is a partnership and doing erection & commissioning contract for which they are registered under service tax

20 August 2007 In my opinion it is chargable on service tax. What is the status of person who rendering the services ? .

24 August 2007 Indus Tubes Ltd. vs CCE 2006(3) STT406(Trib) it was held that the activities such as helping a builder to procure land & getting all permission for construction & being paid for those services would prima facie come under REAL STATE AGENT.
