09 December 2009 Hi all,

Senior Citizens Savings Scheme 2004 and the Post Office Time Deposit Account added to the basket of saving instruments under Section 80C of the Income Tax Act.
w.e.f. A.Y. 2008-09.

Whether the same continues to be taken for rebate U/s 80C for A.Y. 2010-2011.

If yes, There is any circular or notification to that. Plz Provide

09 December 2009 80C(2)(xxiii) and (xviv) are the concerned sections. This is applicable from 01/04/2008.
No amendment has been made in those section through The Finance (N0 2) Bill,2009. Hence it can be very well presume that the benefit continues for assessment year 2010-11 also.
