is it better to go for self studies or tuition

It depends on level of understanding and comfort zone, whether to attend coaching classes or not. If you think you can manage all the subjects on your own without any external help then go for self studies. But, there would be instances where you need conceptual clarity in those cases it will really challenging to move forward. Consider time factor, financial position and take a call that suits you.
