I would like to know whether I can consider the let out property principal repayment under section 80C for availing exemption.

Yes, principal repayment of housing loan is eligible for deduction u/s 80C irrespective of the fact whether the loan is for self occupied property or let out property.

yes you can take deduction under 80C for repayment of housing loan whether it is self occupied or not.
