Salary for the purpsoe of provident fund

This query is : Resolved

02 November 2011 Salary for the purpose of PF means the entire Basic Salary or only upto the extent of Rs.6500/-

Eg. If say the Basic salary is Rs.10,000, is PF supposed to be deducted on the entire Salary of Rs.10,000 or can salary for that purpose be restricted to Rs.6,500?

Thanks in advance

02 November 2011 PF will be deducted on the entire basic pay of Rs.10000
