Dear sirs,
My father is a seasonal employee in a co-operative sugar mill in U.P.His salary is Rs.1,40,000 per year.Now He is a Insurance Advisor with Bajaj life Insurance on a commission base.During the year 2011-2012 His
income from the said Insurance work was Rs.7000 & His total income with salary & interest from Bank Deposit was 1,51,000 with insurance income(salary 140000+interest 4000+commission 7000).Insurance company deduct Rs.1400 as TDS and pay Rs. 5600.He has not a PAN yet.On 06/06/2012 He apply for PAN.What He is able to claim refund for the amt. of TDS.

He will NOT be allowed refund of TDS since he did not have a PAN.
He should provide the PAN to the insurance company and request them to revise their TDS return.
Thereafter your father will be able to claim credit of TDS.
He can then file a return and claim refund of TDS.
