15 May 2011 I have registered under service of mandap service from 08-09, I had received a intimation of file a nil return for F.Y 08-09 & F.Y 09-10 but i have started filling return from 10-10 both returns are accepted in due date itself as nil return.

now i have asked service tax experts that do i have to file both year 08-09 & 09-10 return compulsory even i have filed nil return in F.Y.10-11

pls do explain all experts

15 May 2011 yes, you have to file nil return,
every registererd assessee has to file return within stipulated time, even in case of NIL return.

read the above, where board clarified that no penalty for filing late in case of NIL return.

15 May 2011 so, do i filed s.t return for f.y. 08-09 & f.y 09-10 without late filling penalty of rs. 2000/- per return means ( Rs. 2000 X 4 = Rs. 8000/-)

15 May 2011 no fine needed, for NIL returns,
however if ur return carries tax, then u have to pay fine.

15 May 2011 my 08-09 & 09-10 t.o is Rs. 6,25,000/- and Rs. 7,52,000/-

do i file return or not ?

or

continued with current year F.Y 2011-12, as i said I have filed last year F.Y. 2010-11 both half yrly return

15 May 2011 file the return NIL( if possible file E return through ACES)

as in case of pending returns department may book case of taxable service and tax due, so before hand file return, and get in peace.

dont get tensed, you have neither violated any rule, nor made any crime, just due to ignorance and hidden fear of arguments with department u skipped to file the return, u can file now,

but do it sooner as department may get arresive in coming days, due to recovery pressure created by central govt.

15 May 2011 in case they refuse, you have option to submit the return online,

in case of any prob, visit the AC, or tech superintendent. he will help u

15 May 2011 how i can know the range officer of yours?
couples of such cases has been solved and tech super is always co-operative.

though if u feel dizzy then use e filing, thats trouble free.

16 May 2011 in F.Y 2008-09 I have apply for registration in offline and also they give offline st-2 so now how can i file e-file. i have just create login id but without st-1 application & st-2 how can i e-file.

pls guide me sir,

16 May 2011 visit the R/O with an letter for allotment of e filing login and password

where you have to mention
Registration number
Contact person name
Contact person Telephone No
Email id

R/O will update with ACES and ACES will send u an email for generation of your login id and password, where your registration will appear.
