30 July 2015 A Person stayed 183 days in Dubai and 182 days i india in FY 12-13.He earned an income of 50Lakhs in Dubai in FY 12-13.For AY13-14 he hasn't filed the return in India. Now he got a notice from Income Tax office for not filling the return in india and raised a demand to file the return for FY 12-13 in India and pay the tax for 50Lakhs earned.

So please provide me the solution to proceed further.

30 July 2015 As you stayed in India for 182 days you are resident for AY 13-14. Hence your global income is liable for tax in India. Relief can be claimed for any tax paid in Dubai. File the return and pay tax as per notice.
