Kindly let me know the procedure and documentation required for registration of a Trust u/s 80G.
A trust is already registered but dont have 80G exemption
I want to apply for the same so that the Doners can claim exemption u/s80G
Kindly let me know the detailed procedure asap

1. Form 10 G of IT Rules,1962.
2. Copy of registration granted u/s 12A.
3. Notes on activities of the trust since inception or during last three years.
4. Copies of financial statements since inception or for last three years.
Please prepare the above in triplicate and submit to the jurisdictional CIT.

is may take around 6 months...in order to reduce time, it is advisable to keep all the documents available. The CIT will ask questions regarding the expenses in books etc.
Additionally, if the trust/NGO is based in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai etc the jurisdictional authority shall be DIT(exemptions)
