Pls helpus

02 February 2024 You can account the fee in direct expenses... No, It's not a Duties & Taxes head.

17 August 2025 It's important to distinguish between tuition fees and recognition (or affiliation) fees. Only tuition fees for full-time education of up to two children qualify for deductions under Section 80C (max ₹1.5 lakh combined with other eligible investments)

.
Recognition fees do not qualify—they are administrative charges, not educational expenses, and are not covered under Section 80C or the education allowance under Section 10(14) (which mainly covers tuition, exam, or special course fees for salaried employees)

Therefore, recognition fees cannot be claimed as deduction in your income tax return. Always maintain separate documentation to avoid confusion.
