Refund order cheque, query...

01 December 2011 hello,

one of our client has received a cheque of refund late. as cheque is valid for 3 months from the date of issue but my cline has received the cheque after the three months left from the date of issue.
his return is filled manually, but cheque has been received under cpc system, of sbi only.
pls give me right direction what to do in case..?

13 December 2011 If the cheque has become stale, you will have to file an application with the Assessing Officer with whom the return was filed requesting him to issue a new cheque in lieu of the original cheque.
