Refund of TDS for F.Y 2008-09

26 July 2010 Sir, One of my client has not filed the IT Return for F.Y 2008-09 in which there is TDS of RS. 9000/-

Now we are going to file the IT Return for F.Y 2008-09 Its business income hence ITR4 will be filed, Pls guide Can we claim TDS refund for F.Y 2008-09 now?

26 July 2010 Dear Aditya, i got confused. as i understand return for the AY 2008-09 can not be filed after 31st March 2010. will u pl elaborate more on this

26 July 2010 Agree with Aditya Ji you can file your return and also claim TDS.

As per Income Tax Department of India : “Income tax return may be furnished any time before the expiry of two years from the end of the financial year in which the income was earned’. This means that if you earned your income during FY 2008-09, you may file a belated return anytime before 31st March, 2011 ”
