08 December 2010 My client has filed for refund in income tax office. The income tax officer has rejected the refund because our TDS anoubt is 2000 higher than as shown in their nsdl. we have a TDS certificate of the Amount we are claiming. Please suggest

08 December 2010 There may be some mistake in filling the return by the deducter, please verify and take the correction letter from the deducter, and submit to AO . Then you will get the correct refund amount.

08 December 2010 The amount credited / shown in 26AS Statement can only be claimed.
Only available option is to check in 26AS Statement & compare it with TDS Certificate.
If there are unmatched in 26AS, request to the deductor to make a correction statement & get the corrected TDS certificate & verify the same again in 26AS statement.
