Rectification u/s. 154 ??

08 May 2012 Hello everyone,

i had filed the itr-1 of my client for a.y. 09-10 in oct2010 manually.

there were some mistake that i want to rectify.

How can i file the rectification application u/s. 154 since the return cannot be revised now ?

08 May 2012 Rectifications in the return of AY 2009-10 is now not possible.
.
Application for rectification U/s 154 can be made in reference to an assessment order only.

09 May 2012 return can be rectified only through the mode of revise return u/s 139(5)...

u/s 154 a rectification application can be made only against any order passed by the IT authority...

therfore, you can not rectify the return now...

09 May 2012 Hi Abhishek

As you filed the return manually and not electronically.
It seems , you need to submit return to some one like bank etc.
So you can change whatever you want to change by applying flute over it as it was not to be rechecked with IT deptt.

09 May 2012 In a rectification you can only seek rectification of mistake apparent from record.

You cannot make a fresh claim.

So it has to be seen what is the mistake that you have made and only then it can be decided whwther rectification is possible or not.
