23 November 2007 Additional Excise Duty is levied in lieu of sales tax on goods of special importance and on textiles and articles of textiles.

Additional Excise Duty (AED): - This duty is levied on certain specified goods in terms of various other statutes such as:

Additional Duties of Excise (Goods of special importance) ACT, 1957

Additional Duties of Excise (Textiles and Textile Articles) ACT, 1978

Refer Appendix IV of Central Excise Tariff for Rates
