05 January 2011 Sir I work in a private limited company. we give advertisement on newspaper & Magazine on behalf of our client when we raise service tax bill we charge 1.55% service tax could you plz tell me breakup of 1.55% tax like how much service tax education cess and secondery education cess

05 January 2011 1.5% is the basic rate + 2% EC on st + 1% SHEC on ST.

05 January 2011 The question is of service tax rate and there is no TDS invovled.

Please read the question carefully.

No need to deduct EC & SHEC while deducting TDS but in ST you have to charges EC & SHEC.
