Purchasing a land in india by a citizen of canada.

in case of a citizen of canada of indian origin want to purchase a land in india via his icici bank a/c in india and he also want to invest some money of his family in investment by his name, so what procedure can be adopted to cover the whole invesment as a legal point of views of income tax, FEMA, RBI etc.

By the automatic route he can do so and no need to take any permission from RBI as he is to make invest from his NRI account
