Please let me know whether Provident Fund contribution is optional for an employee with basic wages below 15000, If an employee gives a letter not opting for PF coverage

The government made provident fund contribution optional for workers getting salary below the threshold. Employee may give a letter not opting for PF.
However, the employer will continue to contribute his share of the PF irrespective of the worker opting not to pay his contribution.
