i read somewhere that I can withdraw from my GPF and deposit the same in PPF and avail of 80C...however I'm not sure what benefit that would be...does it free up funds for prepayment of home loan or...?

deposit in PPF is eligible for deduction u/s.80C. withdrawing PPF before 5 years is taxable
