Pls tell me if a dependent receive pension after death of a person who was lecturer in govt college then what was tax liability whether pension exempted u/s 10 (18) or not

31 March 2016 Not exempted u/s 10(18) this pension is taxable. Refer section 56 and 57 of Income tax Act.

31 March 2016 Only commuted pension is exempted under the section.

31 March 2016 Are you referring "Family Pension"? If so, the same is taxable in the hands of receiver.
If you are referring "Arrears of pension", the representative assessee can file the return of income.
