Pension income

This query is : Resolved

23 February 2018 hello sir , one of my client got a pension of Rs.51542 in 2016-17 .On that tds of Rs.1717 also deducted and it is showing in 26AS.Now what my doubt is how that tds has been deducted i.e on what basis ?.And how we need to show that amount in It return? is that Tds amount is sufficient or the tax payer has to pay more tax on that pension income. The taxpayer is private company employee.

23 February 2018 1. Seems tax is deducted u/s 206AA I ie., @ 20% plus cess.

2. Show that amount in return form under TDS column.

3. Left open.
