Overdue interest capitalisation

In the context of AS 16 Can Overdue interest charged by Bank because of non payment of lnstallment or loan at time can be capitalised ? Please advise

Overdue interest is an avoidable cost and hence, as per my understanding, it can't be capitalized as per AS-16.
