06 September 2008 For some file server PCs and UNIX workstations, the network circuitry is sometimes built in to the system motherboard, its called on-board circuitry.

* Advantage - Since it is integrated, allows clients faster access to the server’s resources.
* Disadvantage - If the network circuitry fails, the entire motherboard must be taken out and either fixed or replaced.
