I have received a notice under section 143 (2) on the basis of return filed on 16th September 2012 for the assessment year 2012-13 notice dated 1.08.2013. Is this is the valid notice or not.

The notice is valid since it is withing time limit u/s 143(2) i.e. within six months from the end of financial year in which return was filed.
