19 May 2014 PLEASE REPLY URGENT
Sir,
One of client received notice US 142(1) on dated issued on 09-05-2014 and ask to 'prepare a true and correct return of your income in connection with AY 2007-08' and earlier he had received a notice US 148 for AY 2007-08 on dated 27-03-2014 but it was not relate to him; ITO accept it unofficially (matter open till date). Now, ITO ask to appear on 19-05-14 regarding notice US 142(1).
My client having only income from a tractor nothing else. Notice is VALID?
Can we ignore, without facing problem in near future?
Please suggest earlier bcoz appear before ITO tomorrow morning.

19 May 2014 Vikash do not ignore it. Reply a letter stating ur matter. And try to attend the hearing n have a talk with the Officer. If till then they do not agree(in case u r true) then u can also file a case in court regarding ur matter.

Should we fill ITR AY 2007-08 or not US 142(1) as per instruction US 140?
Notice is Valid for AY 2007-08 on dated 09-05-2014?
Please advise.

19 May 2014 In fact the reality is u can't file previous years return without permission of AO.

19 May 2014 Don't ignore any notices from tax authorities. Please go and speak to ITO over the issue and resolve it.
