Minimise tax on rentals through lease to wife

Can a husband lease his property to wife to manage it and reduce his tax burden being husband is taxable at higher tax slab and wife is making some profits on rentals of leased husband's property ? Both file their returns to save the tax in totality.

husband has to file return for sure. whether wife has to file her return or not shall depend on her total taxable income.
