Medical reimbursement procedure

23 October 2009 Company salary break up are just like these: Basic,Hra,T.A, and Others.
Now if I show Rs. 1250.00 (maximum) paid to the employees as medical reimbursement as others, will it be allowe by the I.Tax

23 October 2009 Yes it's allowable but don't show as fixed allowance in pay slip for every month.

Take perodical bills for medical expenses incurred( Doctor's fees,medicine bill,diagonistics etc) and reimburse periodically upto maximum 15,000 per annum.

If it's a fixed allowance it will be taxable.

23 October 2009 Soppose, someone getting Basic Rs.17670, HRA Rs. 9009, T.A. Rs. 5199 and Other Rs.2772. Total Rs. 34650.per month.

Out of Rs. 2772 x 12 = Rs.33264 if I show Rs. 15000 (maximum) as medical reimbursement within a year will it be allowable?
