17 December 2010 As per IT Act, LTA Can be claimed for 2 occassion in a block of four calander year for exemption.

Query is can one calime LTA for 2 occassion in same Financial year ( 2010-11) once in 2010( April to December) and other 2011( January to March) and can avail exemption for both occasion in PY 2010-11 (AY 2011-12).

17 December 2010 No. this leads to duplicate claim, act is allowing actual claims only, not for the same claim in different Fiancial years
