what is the role of company secretary in loan documentation and project financing.

05 August 2014 the role is as large as you can think of. Unfortunately, role of a CS/legal is often considered inferior to credit and risk teams in project financing.

Your role is important as at the end of the day, whatever may be the projections, the cost etc, the final risk mitigation happens through the loan documentation. As a CS it is important that you ensure that legal documents executed are not unduly favoring the other party and that your interests are duly taken care of.
