Late filling of return for claiming refund

08 August 2014 dear sir. one of my frend is providing consultancy service. he did not filled his income tax return in assessment year 2012-2013. his annnual income was 600000 in that assessment year. and he wants refund of 50000 in that assessment year. so what is the procedure to file income tax return of ay 12-13 and to claim refund amount.

08 August 2014 Belated return should have been filed on or before 31-3-14. Now there is no chance of refund.

08 August 2014 No you can't file return for the Asst.year.

08 August 2014 Return of AY 2012-13 is time barred. last date was 31.03.2014. Now only way is to invoke section 119(2)(b) i.e., application for condonation of delay.
