This query is : Resolved

04 July 2011 I want to know that whether an advocate keeping no books of accounts as he is having no good practise. His gross receipt is around 2.5 lacs. If he claims estimatated 33.33% expenses and decided to show balance as his net income. Whether he can file return in ITR-4S ? If the deemed profit is above 8% can he use ITR 4-SUGAM? In the ITR-4S "nature of business" shows the income from legal professinals. My doubt is whether he can opt ITR4S in e-filing his Return? Please clarify...

05 July 2011 No Income from profession is not included under section 44AD and hence he cannot file ITR 4S.
