What is the purpose of receiving intimation under section 143(1) of Income Tax Act,1961

26 December 2010 Purpose to intimate the assessee about any difference or not between the return filed by the assessee and as per the computation of the IT department. Therefor by intimation u/s 143(1) assessee if informed about the amount of refund or amount payable or no difference.
