This discussion addresses a query about manually setting the closing stock rate in Tally Prime. The user wants to override the auto-generated rate for a specific date, like 31st March, with their own value, but have the system revert to the usual auto-generated rate the next day. The recommended solution involves using a year-end adjustment journal entry on 31st March, with a corresponding reversal entry on 1st April to maintain the correct automated rate for the subsequent day.

GOOD AFTERNOON SIR HOW ARE YOU SIR The issue is related with the rate of Closing Stock in Tally Prime. Since the basic formula is input less output for closing stock working wherein the rate gets auto generated. Since we want to put our rate for closing stock working. How to change the autogenerated rate with our rate is the main issue e.g. as at 31st March autogenerated rate is 200 but we want to change it with 100 only and only for the day of 31st March. Not only that much but the very next day of 1st April again auto generated rate should reflect as usual.

Direct Hardcoding: Tally does not natively support hardcoding a closing stock rate for a single date while ignoring the impact on the next day's opening stock.
Recommended Fix: Use a year-end adjustment journal entry on 31st March and ensure a reversal on 1st April to keep the next day's automated rate intact.
