23 March 2010 i am salaried person & had net income of 103310 in a.y. 2007-08 & filed for same on 09.07.08.
Tax Calculated was : Tax- 331 + E Cess 7 = 338 - TDS 338 = payable tax NIL.

i have recd intimation u/s 143(1) stating amt payable 338 + 36 (int u/s 234a).
please let me know if it is necessary to pay the same as i have already submitted form16 with return & i have not recd any challan etc with intimation for payment of tax? what should i do, pls let me know

Interest u/s 234A is liable in case the return is filed after due date.

Due date for 2007-08 was extended upto feb'08.
This extension of due date is applicable to assessees, who have,-

1. filed the return of income for the A.Y.2007-08 on or after 14 th May, 2007; and
2. filed the return in a form other than one of the forms notified for assessment year 2007-08( ITR-1 to ITR-8).
